Steps to Becoming a Christian

Acknowledge God’s Love for You

God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3: 16)

Acknowledge Your Own Sin & Failure

Yes, all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious ideal. (Romans 3:23)

But if we confess our sins to Him, He can be depended on to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. (1 John 1:9)

Rejoice in God’s Provision & Solution

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, even to those who believe on His name. (John 1:12)

Receive Jesus Christ

Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)

Look! I have been standing at the door and I am constantly knocking. If anyone hears Me calling him and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him and he with Me. (Revelation 3:20)

Pray

“God, I know I’ve let you down. Thank you for loving me the way You do and for offering me Your forgiveness. Forgive me for trying to be my own boss. I surrender control of my life to You right now. Come into my heart. Make me clean. Help me to live for You each day from now on. Thank you for giving me a brand new start. Amen.”
